We hope you enjoyed the epic second trailer for GTA V released earlier today. Here's our thoughts and analysis of what we saw.
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed what we have!
If you see any errors or have any suggestions, please post in the forums and let us know!
That dog is actually a Rottweiler not a pitbull
Yup thats a tornado you can check it by the shape of its front bumper.
Bay City is a real city in California. Bay City was the setting of Renegade, one badass 90s action series which was filmed in and around San Diego.
Great analysis.
And these sure are some scary dogs.
Surely, No.14 that is a Tornado!
And 55 that's the same brand 'Fruit' that has been around since LCS!
Thanks for the corrections.

Thanks, corrected.
Screenshot #88 I'm pretty sure the military vehicle is the Patriot and the cargo plane could be the Andromada.

With Lorenzo Lomas if memory serves, he was a popular actor for awhile there!
Anyway, I wanted to get back to the three-protag idea, I wish they'd actually confirmed that a year ago, because the game informer article suggests rather clearly that the Housers envision that method to correct for periods of in-action where you're more aimless during the course of the game, and creating fun under the one character of previous GTAs on your own, seems at the forefront of allowing dynamic shifting during the whole course of the game, yet I figured it was to show more of the City's life presenting a complete story path or arc for each different character. An easy idea to assume really.
RE the trailer, I want to add a valid point about the "fruit" Apple desk computer, the all in one PC where LCD is married to a PC is not a new idea, or APPLE idea I dare say, as DVD players were also built into flat screens, the one I traded a laptop for is white with a black bezel, same as in that one screenshot in the office, it's a VIZIO/Visio brand LCD HDTV, TV tuner for HD programming but not a PC, but the similarity is still there, they still look to be closely identical.
Also of noticing is the fact at least of dogs we can see so far, a major MAJOR improvement from Red Dead Redemption, which is surely still going to have more animals then GTA when the game comes out, but the dogs in RDR were some of the worst replicants of the Real World variety, they just lacked more natural animation and shape, but that's not to say they didn't work as intended, but this looks to be much better done for GTA V
The Patriot was always a Hummer, this looks like a 4 door Jeep Wrangler. Plus I think I spotted the Patriot elsewhere, looked the same as in GTA IV.
Looks more like a Humvee to me.
The jeep falling from the plane, I don't think you can effectively compare new vehicle roster to that of past GTAs, as the Housers explained, basically each GTA must live ultimately as it's own universe, there's no need to actually have a tie in with each issued game in the franchise, too much attention is based on making such comparisons, needlessly, now any obvious similarities are hard to ignore, but personally I like to see what makes GTA favorable return, and improved in all areas
Tennis is surely a game one can play? I would assume there's some minigame possibility, as well, GOLF they said would be more full-fledged then in anytime past!
Poker is not mentioned in returning, but obviously it seems hinted at by the Housers in Game Informer as a non-Half-assed mini-game! A worthy type to include moving forward. Though it's been there, done that, more multiplayer or singleplayer poker in the GTA realm is not a bad idea, in fact, I think it's worthy of inclusion since it's a different time and setting, and certainly more character options just for that!

Judging from past GTA's, the same vehicle names will most likely return, obviously along with some additions. Even if Houser said it's a different universe, it's the same universe as GTA IV as far as I know. Cars from that game can return, and some cars from that game also came from a universe completely separate (GTA III era).
Wow, not as much people comment as they used to.
Hey guys,
You write something about San Fransisco,
Are you sure ?
Do you confirm Gta5 will take place there ?
Here in France, everybody said this city is Los Santos,
Will be wicked if you could send me some infos wich it's proving it's SF,
thx guys, and wonderful analysis !
Greeting from France
It's Los Santos. Rockstar did confirm it last year. And no mention about SF at all. Although sources show Mount Chillad, Countryside & Desert.Hey guys,

Ha ok,
Because the autor of the analysis talked about SF on screenshots #30 & #31,
that's the reason i asked that :-)
You have to remember that Rockstar's version of San Francisco will probably be inside of Los Santos, this is a completely separate universe from the past GTA games.
Was watching the trailer again and I noticed that If you look closely at the 0:46 mark and Screenshot #37 on the analysis shows that the white car license plate says SA Exempt instead of San Andreas. Since SA Exempt is just Rockstar's version of CA Exempt we can assume that Franklin is stealing a government vehicle
Look at the whole region this way, Los Santos and it's surroundings are the WHOLE OF THE GTA V GAME, this is in little doubt if you were privy to the Game Informer cover story, what they said is that Los Angeles is given the ROCKSTAR treatment that New York was for GTA IV, that's basically it in a nut shell, any similarities are not intended to really be a direct match, but they are considered to be an homage one could say

Good eye! I added it in on Screenshot #36.
@Tuner well, we certainly ain't sure if its a hummer or a jeep unless we see the entire vehicle from all the angles and not just the reverse. It could be a new version of the patriot though.
I say it's a Jeep, Hummers are pretty easy to isolate and identify, Anywho, The trailer shows how dogs are more then just merely window dressing in the AI universe, more then just pets of peds, but what of other wildlife, say off the beaten track? Some fans humorously suggested some form of hunting based on that found in Red Dead Red, for GTA's forest regions. I have to admit, lions and wild boar attacks really added to RDR fun, but the bears were 'killer', and certainly might be found in a Cali high-country region?!?

Well, I always bring up what comes as officially as possible, if I remember it verbatim, all the better, but I would agree that certainly wording and naming is most likely to share within the whole of the GTA universes, but they've clearly made the separation within GTA along the same lines as the console generations, whereas GTA is basically also available on PC, the generations of which are every 6 months! haha
Well this is a pointless fucking argument devoid of any logic or progress. It's totally just an infernus from a strange angle, n00bs.
It's a good job nobody else is going to mention it for the rest of the thread...
Nice job Dom with the analysis! This was surely one of the best trailers R* has ever released, I was awed. There's not going to be an SF though, but yes probably a merge with LS to make a brand new city.
In the trailer Trevor says to and i quote "Your therapist has a lot to answer for." Why do you think Michael needs a therapist?
@Rem #31 The dome is the Los Santos Forum where the 8-Track race takes place.
I say it's a Jeep
This is still up for debate...? Did you even see the picture?
It's not up for debate when I say IT'S A JEEP, that's my final assessment, make of it what you will, but I don't plan to lose sleep over it! hahaha
As for moving onward and upward, the therapist for Michael is just a guess at this point, but he's under FIB's watchful eye in Witness Protection, and as one analysis pointed out on YouTube, he seems to have a lot of money as such, in the REAL WORLD this is NOT the case, I summize, he could be court ordered to do therapy or some other legal matter. It's all unknown so far really, but one aspect I don't guess about is that the three protags from varied backgrounds and live SWITCHING among them allows you, the player, to assume the skill sets of each of the three. There are varied mini games and leisure activities for each as noted, something they are still working on and finalizing pre-release!
